It has come to our attention that we have may have “ruined our kids” with these trips last summer and this spring. Nothing impresses them anymore. We have been to some of the most beautiful places on Earth, both man-made and natural. They have seen temples, white beaches, glaciers, ruins, caves, waterfalls, mountains, outrageous rock formations, villages and cities and have ridden trains, ferries, crowded busses, funiculars, a moped, kayaks, ski lifts, subways, gondolas, speedboats, and ziplines. We have visited seemingly infinite numbers of UNESCO World Heritage sites and walked so many steps that any reasonable step counter would explode. We have eaten everything from questionable street food to gourmet meals, encountered countless cultures and languages, hiked, snorkeled, fed elephants, rock climbed, gone fishing, trampolined, jumped into a nearly frozen lake, encountered crazy wildlife (and bugs), attended concerts, street festivals, fireworks, seen more cathedrals and temples and art museums and history museums and science museums than we can possibly count, and so much more. There is not much that they have not crammed into this year. We apologize that the rest of your life will be boring….maybe we took this adventure too far 🙂
