Today we woke up early and packed for a day tour cruise in Lan Ha Bay. We got picked up by a bus and were driven down to the ocean. Then we went on a small boat with everybody in our group to a big boat that had 3 stories. We rode the boat out in the ocean for about 20 minutes and then stopped to go kayaking in some ocean caves. I was very tired after kayaking. Then we ate lunch. They served us a lot of food but most of it was seafood so I just ate french fries, salad, and chicken. Then we parked and had free time to swim. Ashton jumped off the side of the second floor into the water. I didn’t want to get wet again so I just stayed inside the boat and played cards. Then the boat took us back. When we got back we all took showers and then we went to dinner. I got a burger and pita bread with hummus. Then we went home for the night and wrote our blogs.
[Editors Note: Lan Ha Bay is adjacent to the more famous Ha Long Bay (which we also passed through partially). We generally skipped it due to reports that there is copious floating trash in Ha Long these days. Lan Ha was beautiful and mostly clean. The Vietnam government has recently imposed a 10% tax on all tourist cruises in these areas to help clean up all the trash, so hopefully Ha Long will again be beautiful in a few years.]
