Today is Easter. We started off the day with a candy hunt in our room. Then we went to breakfast downstairs. Then we went back upstairs and packed for our cave trip.
We got picked up by a person who took us to where the boat was launching. Then we took the boat to Koh Hong. Then we took a kayak to a private beach that was made up of shells. Then we kayaked back to the boat and ate lunch. They had a whole buffet that you could choose from.
Then the tour guide took us in a kayak to a cave that was super low so we had to lie down in the kayak. When we got outside of the cave there was a big opening in the ceiling so you could see the sky. There were these cool fish called Mudskippers which are fish that can walk out of water. There were also mangrove trees where the mudskippers would hold on to the roots that were out of the water.
Then we went to another cave that was called Honeymoon Cove because if you looked up you could see a heart shape in the sky. In the rocks there were a ton of crabs.
Then we went back to the boat and made Loy Krathong. To make one you use the trunk of a banana tree and then put flowers on it with other decorations. Then we ate dinner on the boat and it was also a buffet. Then we went to our last cave and lit the candles on the Loy Krathong. We set them in the water and it looked so beautiful. In the cave there were bats hanging from the ceiling just starting to wake up.
In the water there were bioluminescent plankton that were very pretty. Then we sat on the lower deck on the boat ride back home and looked at the stars. You could also see the bioluminescent plankton on the side of the boat. When we got home we went straight to bed because we were so tired.
