By Sadie The Great
This morning we went on the tram to the National Art Museum. It was so big that we had to leave, go eat lunch, and come back to do the other half of the museum. For lunch we went to a fancy Japanese restaurant and I got an asparagus sushi roll. I got it because I don’t like fish but I wanted to try sushi. In the museum they had the famous painting called The Scream by Edvard Munch, and one of Vincent Van Gogh’s self-portraits. After we had finished with the art museum we went outside and got soft-serve ice cream at the wharf. I got vanilla with Oreo crumbles on top in a cup. Then we went home for the night and watched tv before bed.
EDITOR’S NOTE: The National Museum in Oslo was awesome. I have been to probably more art museums than I would choose on my own, and this one kept everyone engaged throughout. Each exhibit was displayed differently (variety keeps it interesting), most rooms had an activity to keep kids engaged (see the “pose like a statue” photo of Sadie), and there were even free art classes going on that gave us a nice break when the attention spans needed a break. Many of the rooms were faintly playing music that matched the mood/theme of the art inside. Lighting and colors were varied throughout. Overall this art museum, while quite large, was still able to engage all us for most of the day and should be an example to other museums worldwide.
