Today we went to a synagogue in Budapest. The synagogue that we went to is the largest synagogue outside of New York. At the synagogue, my dad and I had to wear a small cone-shaped hat. My mom and Sadie just had to have their knees covered. Outside of the synagogue, they had a memorial garden, and in the next building over they had a small Jewish history museum. We started out inside the synagogue. They had two large gold leaf and metal pulpits and stained glass windows. They also had a pipe organ and pews of kneeling bench seats made of carved wood. My dad pointed out that the columns/pillars and the pews were faux-finished even though they were already made of real stone and wood. Then we went out to the memorial garden and took some pictures and relaxed. And at the end, we went over to the Jewish history museum where we got to see some artifacts, Torah scrolls, tablets, and paintings. Also when we left the synagogue my dad saw a shirt that said “technically Moses was the first person to download data from the cloud” which was pretty funny. Then we got on the 6 hour and 45 minute train ride to Zagreb, Croatia!
