Today, both of the kids wanted to post their daily write-up…and they now have both assumed their own self-selected superlatives as well:

This morning we packed up and left Istanbul to go to Kusadasi. It was a 7-hour drive. We stopped twice, once at a rest stop to eat lunch and another time to get gas. For lunch we all got paninis and they were delicious. The views on the drive were incredible. For most of the car ride, there was a view of mountains and the other times we were looking at the ocean. I started making a bracelet and then Ashton and I played some card games and charades to pass the time. When we got to our place as we waited for the guy to get here and give us the key we went to look at the beach that was right outside our house. As we came into the house, I was really surprised about how nice it was. We even got a balcony that looks toward the beach and one of the mountains. There are really nice sunsets that we watched while we ate dinner.

Today when we went to the car rental place, we waited for a while because the place needed to make my dad and my mom an account on their website and then my dad had to pay for the car. After we got the car we went through the crazy traffic in Istanbul leading to the highway, my dad said that he was scared for the drive because almost all of the people didn’t follow the laws on the road like in one-way streets people would drive the wrong way and people would run red lights, by the time we got to the highway my dad said that the streets were wide enough that it was not as scary. While my sister and I were bored we played cards and charades.
In the car, it was so beautiful and the view of the mountains and hills was amazing. Finally, we got to the apartment. It was right above a grocery store grocery store. Grocery stores in other countries are tiny and this was the biggest one I had seen the entire trip but even then it was very small.
The apartment was beautiful and it had an amazing view of the ocean and had a lot of balconies.
